Physical Vibrations

I feel that sometimes in limited fork, the physical manifestations of vibrations are ignored. I would like to recollect on one of the most direct encounters I had with the physical aspect of vibrations.

This happened on Wednesday, October 21st at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center during the Jay-Z concert, and the vibrations I noticed were audible and occurred in the "stimulus-response" manner. For example, when the lights dimmed in the auditorium and Jay-Z took the stage, the crowd responded by cheering. When Jay-Z waved his arms from side to side the crowd responded by mimicking his movements. When he pointed the mic towards the fans, they responded by yelling the lyrics to the song.

This is just to say that vibrations can truly take any form, and that the conversion from thought to action and stimulus to response are one in the same.

  1. I meant to say audible and visual vibrations, not just audible.

  2. Indeed; vibration does take many forms, of course physical --sorry that I've been so committed to sound. Thank you for posting about these physical aspects of vibration. Within our bodies, vibrations sustain us; using our body parts are a combination of many vibrational forms. I should also say here that light itself is a form of vibration; the wave pattern of light happens to be visible to many of us, a visibility that establishes a configuration of the visible spectrum as a vibrational manifestation.

  3. And DJ Adio (see the DJ Adio post) movements, gestures are physical vibrations; physical vibrations that produce sonic vibrations. We can see, feel, hear, and even taste some vibrational systems. The vibrational system may have aspects (facets, angles, etc.) that interface and interact (leading to production of interaction ripples or vibrations, a subsystem within a vibrational system) with many of our perceptual systems.
